RULES REGARDING TARDINESS, LEAVE & ATTENDANCE
1. Students are expected to be in school before the first bell at 8.25 a.m.
2. Late comers will be marked absent for the morning session.
3. After 3 late entries, parents should meet the Principal the next day.
4. Students should apply for leave as per the prescribed form given in the diary. In addition, the student is required to fill the absent record and get signatures from the designated authorities on their day of return.
5. If leave is required for more than 3 days due to illness a medical certificate must be attached to the application. If leave is required for reasons other than sickness the parent has to get Principal's special permission.
6. Half - day leave is not permitted. In case of any emergency, parents should come directly to the school and get the permission from the Principal.
7. Absence for a test will be viewed very seriously if prior permission is not obtained.
8. Students who lack 75% attendance are not eligible to appear for the III Terminal Examination, failing which promotion is doubtful.
9. Students who go out for vacation should return in advance to be present on the re-opening day.
10. Attendance is compulsory on the first and the last working day of the school.
11. If Std X, XI & XII students take leave without prior permission, parents should meet the Principal and the class teacher the next day morning before 8.30 a.m. itself. Pupils are not allowed to meet parents, visitors or leave the school premises during the working hours.
EARLY DEPARTURE FROM SCHOOL
Permission to leave early from school will be sanctioned only by PRINCIPAL. This permission can be granted only under the following conditions.
i) A written requisition letter from parents.
ii) When found sick / fatigued / hurt.
WITHDRAWALS
1. Students are accepted for admission on the understanding that they will remain in the school for the entire course. Parents will have to pay the fees in accordance with the school rules, if there is any withdrawal in between.
2. Students leaving the school in the middle of the term must pay the school fee for the full academic year.
3. Request for Transfer certificate should be submitted in the school office before 31st of March, failing which first term fee will be collected before the issue of T.C.
4. Transfer Certificate will be given only to those students who have no arrears of fee and other payments.
WITHDRAWALS UNDER COMPULSION
1. Repeated defaulters who do not pay fees regularly may be withdrawn from the school. The Parent will be asked to clear the dues before leaving.
2. The Principal can ask parents to withdraw their ward from the school, if the students conduct, behaviour or influence is in any way detrimental to the interests of the school.
TO STUDENTS
1. Damage done to buildings, furniture, library books, sports goods, buses etc., must be paid for at the discretion of the Principal.
2. Pupils are advised not to bring any valuable articles to the school. The school will not be responsible for the loss of pupil’s belongings.
3. Pupils are responsible for their own books, pens, cycles, tiffin carriers, gold ornaments or any other articles. While every effort will be made by the school to reduce loss of such articles, the ultimate responsibility rests with the children themselves.
4. All pupils are responsible to the school authorities for behavior outside the school. Any reported or observed objectionable conduct outside the school on the part of the pupils shall make them liable to disciplinary action. On their way to and from school, they are expected to behave in a decent manner.
5. Students suffering form contagious/infectious diseases will not be permitted to attend the school.
6. Any serious breach of discipline and above all disrespect and disobedience to the members of the school staff inside or outside the school premises will be treated seriously.
7. Pupils are not allowed to give gifts to teachers.
8. Regular late-coming, frequent absence, negligence in wearing uniforms, carelessness in studies will be viewed seriously.
9. Promotion is entirely dependent on his/her attendance and performance in each and every monthly test, Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment.
10. Every student should bring the Hand-Book to the school daily.
11. Students are instructed to be clean and tidy in their person, dress, books and all their belongings.
12. No books(other than library books and class books), newspapers or periodicals should be brought to school without the consent of the school authorities.
13. Pupils are expected to take part in all the extra curricular activities of the school and no one will be exempted without valid reasons.
14. No students will be exempted from physical exercise and games without Medical Certificate.
15. All the students should converse only in English in the school premises to acquire greater skill in the use of the language.
16. In the classroom, place is allotted to each student by the Class Teacher and no student may change it by themselves. Likewise no one may move from place to place or go out of the classroom without permission.
17. The boys should come to school with their hair properly cut and clean shave. Nobody with long, coloured hair will be allowed to attend the class. Piercings are strictly prohibited.
18. Girls with short hair should wear a plastic hair band (block). Long haired girls must tie their hair in 2 braids.
19. Students moving from one class room to another / Labs / Playground, shall do so in order and shall observe perfect silence on their way.
20. Students should not drive two wheelers. Students who use public transport are to strictly avoid footboard travelling.
21. All pupils should bring lunch to school and should bring with them napkins/hand towels and should use the same to avoid making the class room dirty.
22. Good table – manners should be followed during the lunch time by avoiding spilling and wasting.
23. Though the school takes all care to supply clean drinking water, it is advisable that students carry their own water bottles from their homes.
24. Students are prohibited from eating or chewing any eatables during classes.
25. Any student found to have taken other students belongings will face immediate suspension.
26. Physical violence with classmates / schoolmates inside or outside the campus will not be condoned.
27. Students are not permitted to organize any parties or get togethers by themselves on class basis or school basis outside the school campus.
28. Bringing mobile phones, pen drives, CD’s, and other electronic devices to the campus or using them is prohibited and disciplinary action will be taken on those students who break this rule.
29. Writing vulgar remarks/dirty comments on the walls of the toilet or any school property like benches, walls, black board will result in serve disciplinary action.
TO PARENTS
1. Parents are requested to co-operate with the school in maintaining discipline, inculcating diligence, initiative, upright behavior and courtesy of the students.
2. Parents are always welcome to the school to ensure the progress of their ward. Parents may contact the class teacher and subject teacher between 4.00p.m.to 4.30p.m on every Friday.
3. Parents are not allowed to see their children or meet the teacher during the school hours without the permission of the Principal.
4. Parents are expected to co- operate in the work of the school by enforcing regularity, punctuality and discipline and by taking interest in their children’s progress. They are specially requested to read the rules carefully and see that they are strictly followed.
5. Parents are advised not to encourage leave or absence of their ward to attend weddings (other than close relatives) and other routine social or religious functions at home.
6. Parents are asked to equip their ward with the correct uniform requirements, stationeries and accessories required for class room activities.
7. Parents should ensure that their ward rejoins the school on scheduled – reopening dates after long holidays.
8. A record of the address with phone number of the parents is maintained in the school office. Any change of address / phone number should be communicated without delay.
9. Parents are expected to meet the Principal only during the working hours and particularly during the specified days and timings given to them.
10. Rules and regulations and other norms mentioned in the prospectus are framed keeping in mind the general requirements of the institution. It will not be altered at the request of any individual, student or parent or group of students/parents.
11. Parents are requested not to permit their children to organize or participate in any get togethers or parties arranged by the students on the basis of their class or school, outside the school campus.
12. Parents are expected to keep their relationship with the staff members as purely official avoiding strictly the following.
a) Visiting the residences of the staff on any matters of their own interest.
b) Asking any favouritism or obligation.
c) Presenting any gifts.
d) Inviting staff members to the residence for any personal work, family function etc.,
13. The authorities may frame and issue from time to time disciplinary rules of permanent or temporary character regulating the conduct of the students within the campus and outside.
14. Parents should come decently dressed inside the school campus.
